Hello
Everyone,
Busy, busy,
busy. That describes this last week. 12 new missionaries came into the Texas
Dallas Mission Monday, and 15 went home Wednesday. It is always a fun experience
talking with the new missionaries and asking what their thoughts are about Texas
and the work they will be doing. They will provide a lot of great service, so we
are excited to see the growth that will take place in the coming weeks. Soon
after transfers take place, we spend the remainder of the day with the departing
missionaries. There are always a lot of mixed emotions with the departing
missionaries. It is sad to see them go, but happy to know they will be reunited
with their families and continue with their lives in a more mature and focused
way. They each bear their testimonies at the mission home the night before they
fly home. It is powerful to see what they have learned, and hear the experiences
they have been blessed with. After they are dropped off at the airport, a list
of problems need to be solved and assignments to be completed. We also had a
Zone Conference that we had to prepare for. It is great to be with all of the
missionaries and see what we can do to help them become better. President
Durrant is great at helping missionaries develop internal motivation. There are
many temptations and distractions that missionaries deal with, but they find
ways to overcome them as they recognize the importance of obedience and
representing Jesus Christ in the best ways possible. I love being a missionary
and am thankful for the blessing it is to serve the Lord. I learn so much each
day and find ways to improve as an individual. The Atonement is real. I am so
thankful for the peace and comforts that come as we put our trust in God
and strengthen our desire to endure to the end. Thank you for your love and
prayers.
